WHATS NEW?

Olivia anticipates an eventful 2023 and 2024 season. On September 30th and October 1st, she will return to Opera Las Vegas, assuming the role of Adriana in the highly anticipated professional debut of the opera, "Behold the Man." In November Olivia is excited to direct UNLV’s fall production of La Divina by Thomas Pasatieri.

In 2024, Olivia will perform the role of Anna with Mobile Opera in their production of Puccini’s Le Villi. She then looks forward to joining the Southern Nevada Musical Arts Society in their Spring Masterworks Concert as the soprano soloist. Finally, in June Olivia returns to Opera Las Vegas to perform the role of Musetta in their production of La Boheme.

Praised for singing with “gorgeous vulnerability” (The Richmond Times). Olivia Yokers is well regarded for her thrilling voice and versatility onstage. Ms. Yokers has performed pieces spanning from Mozart to Rodgers and Hammerstein, as well as Philip Glass. Company engagements include Dayton Opera, Cincinnati Opera, Utah Festival Opera, Painted Sky Opera, Virginia Opera, and Charlottesville Opera. Her most notable roles are Mabel in The Pirates of Penzance (Dayton Opera, Tulane Summer Lyric, Utah Festival Opera), Zerlina in Don Giovanni (Dayton Opera, Chance Opera Theatre), Charlene in ServiceProvider (Painted Sky Opera), Cinderella in Into the Woods (Utah Festival Opera), and Berta in Il Barbiere di Siviglia (Virginia Opera). As an advocate for new music Ms. Yokers was a part of the debut of Before theNight Sky presented by Opera America New Opera Showcase. She also performed with the Indianapolis Opera with the first staged production of Akhnaten.

She has performed as a soloist in various concerts and oratorios including, Haydn’s Creation and Handel’s Messiah.  In 2020, Miss Yokers was featured as a soloist in Oklahoma Lyric’s Moonlight Cabaret. Ms. Yokers’ rewards include, the title of Cincinnati Opera Idol, first prize in both the Dayton Opera Guild Competition and Indianapolis Matinee Musicale Colligate Competition, and first place at the Hamilton-Fairfield Symphony Guild Voice Competition.

As a stage director, Miss Yokers has worked with companies such as, UNLV Opera Theatre and Music On Site, Inc. (MOSI). She has directed and assistant directed operas such as, La Divina by Thomas Pasatieri, Rossini’s Le Comte Ory, and Johann Strauss’s Fledermaus. You can view Miss Yokers directing portfolio here.
